The Emcee<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

•  Age Range: 25-50 <\/li>
• Male Presenting\/Gender non-conforming <\/li>
• Accent: German<\/li>
• Vocal Range: C#5-C3<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

  Undeniable stage presence. Host of the Kit Kat Klub and physical manifestation of the spirit of Berlin. Exuberant and charismatic figure. Dark, comedic, sinister, confident, sexual\u2026AND loveable. The thread that weaves the whole show together. The Emcee exists within our story as well as an omnipresent entity witnessing our story unfold and setting things into motion. Must be comfortable breaking the fourth wall and being close to the audience. Must act, sing (in German, French, and English), move well, and be comfortable with bawdy and suggestive staging\/choreography. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Sally Bowles<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Age Range: 20-40<\/li>
  • Female Presenting<\/li>
  • Accent: British<\/li>
  • Vocal Range: C5-A3, strong belt<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    British cabaret singer working at the Kit Kat Klub. Comes across quirky and flighty, in denial of the darkness and reality of her life, not bothered by things she thinks do not affect her (ex: the rise of the Nazis is simply \u201cpolitics\u201d). She is guarded and rarely lets people see the real girl within. Protects herself by presenting the character of Sally. Self sabotager. Doesn\u2019t have the best luck in her relationships with men. Must act, sing, and move well. Must be comfortable with moments of intimacy, and bawdy\/suggestive staging and choreography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Clifford \u201cCliff\u201d Bradshaw<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Accent: American<\/li>
    • Vocal Range: E4-A2<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      An American novelist traveling across Europe in search of \u201csomething to write about.\u201d Along the way, he explores the complexities of his own sexuality, politics, and his own artistic goals. At the beginning of the show he is someone who lets life happen to him and grows into someone who takes control of his life. Must act and sing well, comfortable with light dance and moments of intimacy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Fraulein Schneider <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Age Range: 40-60s<\/li>
      • Female Presenting<\/li>
      • Accent: German<\/li>
      • Vocal Range: A flat 4-D3<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        A German landlady who rents rooms to Cliff and other characters in our story. She is alone and has resigned to her lot in life, but secretly longs for companionship. She is very critical of certain people while turning a blind eye to others. Allows herself to fall in love with Herr Schultz only to end the engagement as the Nazi\u2019s rise to power. Must act and sing well, and be comfortable with light dance, and moments of intimacy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

          A Jewish fruit shop owner who falls in love with Fraulein Schneider. Sweet, lovable, and adoring; heartbreakingly naive about the political turmoil in Germany. Must act and sing well, and be comfortable with light dance and moments of intimacy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Fraulein Kost <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          • Age Range: 20s-30s<\/li>
          • Female Presenting<\/li>
          • Accent: German<\/li>
          • Vocal Range: High F-low A flat<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            A sex worker who lives in Fraulein Schneiders boarding house. Larger than life personality, quick witted and sharp tongued. Should be comfortable exhibiting a strong sexual and commanding nature. Must act and move well, and sing in German. May double as a Kit Kat Girl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Ernst Ludwig<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

            • Age Range: 30-40s<\/li>
            • Male Presenting<\/li>
            • Accent: German<\/li>
            • Vocal Range: High F-A flat<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

              A friendly and likable German, takes English lessons from Cliff, and smuggles funds to the Nazi party. Must act and move well, and sing in German. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

              Kit Kat Girls & Boys<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

              • Age Range: 18-40s<\/li>
              • All gender identities and body types welcome<\/li>
              • Accent: German<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                These characters are often in salacious situations and costumes. They are an eclectic mix of types and are not necessarily a matching unit. It is imperative that they act, sing, and move well and with confidence. They will be a part of various scenes inside and outside of the Kit Kat Club, and should be comfortable interacting with the audience as well as bawdy\/suggestive staging\/choreography. May double as Fraulein Kost, Max, customs official, and gorilla. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
