About the show:
Get ready to rock the stage in the hilarious and heartwarming musical comedy The Wedding Singer! Set in 1985, this high-energy show brings the era of big hair and big dreams to life. We're seeking a dynamic and diverse cast to bring these vibrant characters to the stage.
What to Prepare: A 60-second vocal selection in the style of the show (pop/rock or traditional Broadway).
No accompanist provided; please bring a device to play your backing track.
Character Breakdown:
Principal Roles: Robbie Hart (Male, 25–35): A charismatic wedding singer with dreams of rock stardom.
Julia Sullivan (Female, 25–35): A sweet and grounded waitress torn between love and security.
Holly (Female, 25–35): Julia's cousin; sassy, fun-loving, and always the life of the party.
Sammy (Male, 25–35): Robbie's best friend and bandmate; a lovable goofball.
George (Male, 25–35): The band's flamboyant keyboardist with a Boy George flair.
Glen Guglia (Male, 30–45): Julia's fiancé; a wealthy, self-absorbed Wall Street broker.
Linda (Female, 20–35): Robbie's ex-fiancée; a wild, rock 'n' roll diva. Rosie (Female, 60–80): Robbie's spirited grandmother with a zest for life.
Featured & Ensemble Roles: Various supporting roles including wedding guests, waitstaff, impersonators (e.g., Billy Idol, Cyndi Lauper), and more. Ensemble members will have opportunities for featured moments and solos.
Additional Information:
All roles are open to performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, and body types. Dance experience is a plus but not required; choreography will be tailored to cast abilities.
