I've been in a lot of plays at Santa Maria Civic Theatre but I've never directed a show. I knew I wanted to give it a try so when the chance came along to direct a reader's theater version of 12 Angry Men I saw the perfect opportunity to dip my toe into directing.

Noises Off is not a normal play. In a normal play, if something breaks on stage or someone falls down or forgets a line, it's a huge event. For Noises Off...well that's the plot.

If you haven't seen this heart-achingly funny show then you owe it to yourself to make time this weekend! Adult audiences only.

Two months ago I auditioned for Santa Maria Civic Theatre’s production of Young Frankenstein. At the time, director Sally Buchanan promised me (along with everyone else) that there was very little dancing in the show. I’d like to state, for the record, that this was a bald face lie.

Hairspray is the first show in several years where many of the costumes have been hand made by our fantastic volunteers. In the video, costume designer Sarah Buchanan talks about the different Hairspray costumes created for the show.

Tonight is opening night for Santa Maria Civic Theatre's production of Hairspray and we're sold out! If you want to see this incredible show, you're in luck! SMCT has added two new matinee performances of Hairspray on August 19th and 26th at 1:30pm. We still have tickets available for our regular showings as well, but tickets are selling fast.

Summer is finally here. For kids that means school is out and summer break begins. It means reliving summer traditions like barbecues, water slides, hot days, and warm nights. At the Santa Maria Civic Theatre we have a summer tradition too with our free Fairy Tale Theatre 2017.
