Please come prepared with your calendar for the months of October, November, December and January and note any conflicts in your form.

CALLBACKS: Saturday, October 2nd TBD (if needed)

All roles are open to audition. The cast requires thirteen men and seven women, ages 21-65 years, as well as a 10-14-year-old non-singing boy and a 60+ year old singing female.

Except for ‘Nathan,’ you must be at least 18 years old to audition; Nathan candidates must be at least 10 years old.

ABOUT THE SHOW

A raucous, pop-rock-musical send-up of gender expectations and stereotypes… that takes it all off. While spying on their wives at a “Girls’ Night Out,” a group of unemployed steelworkers from Buffalo sees how much they enjoy watching male strippers. Jealous, out of work and feeling emasculated, the men come up with a bold and unclothed way to make some quick cash.

In preparing, they find themselves extremely exposed; not merely physically but emotionally. As they conquer their fears, self-consciousness and prejudices, the men come to discover that they’re stronger as a group, and the strength that they find in each other gives them the individual courage to “let it go.”

TEDDY SLAUGHTER, her live-in boyfriend.

DAVE BUKATINSKY, an overweight, unemployed mill worker.

GEORGIE BUKATINSKY, Dave’s wife.

HAROLD NICHOLS, Jerry Dave’s former supervisor-turned-choreographer.

VICKI NICHOLS, Harold’s wife. MALCOLM MACGREGOR, a man who lives alone with his sick mother.

ETHAN GIRARD, an unemployed mill worker.

NOAH (HORSE) T. SIMMONS, a retired mill worker; African-American.

JEANETTE BURMEISTER, a piano player of indeterminate years.

BUDDY (KENO) WALSH, a very handsome male stripper with an effeminate personality.REG WILLOUGHBY, an unemployed mill worker.

ESTELLE GENOVESE, Jerry’s occasional girlfriend.

Male and female Ensemble will play multiple roles

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

If you are auditioning for Jerry, Dave, Malcolm, Ethan, Harold, Horse, or Keno, you need to be comfortable enough to perform on stage in your underwear, a g-string and eventually, “the Full Monty” to be considered for these roles.

Trust is a key word for our production – you will be taken care of respectfully and our final moment will be powerful, yet careful. You will not need to undress at auditions.

There are some non-dancing and non-singing roles, but everyone will sing and dance at auditions.

Please be prepared to sing about a one minute, of a, pop, rock, R&B or musical theater song, that showcases their vocal range and in a style that is consistent with the character you are auditioning for. A piano Player will not be available so have a track either on CD or an MP3 to play on a speaker from your phone.

You will also be learning a brief dance combination (this is just to see you move). Please dress comfortably for movement.

PARENTS OF NATHAN

Parents of Children auditioning for the role of “Nathan”: Please watch the original movie and find an opportunity to read the musical’s entire script BEFORE your young man auditions. Nathan sees and hears adult-themed content and, critically, drops the f-bomb.
